Head Noises

A blog for my family, friends, shipmates and random folks around the world, should they be so foolish or stout-hearted that they wish to read my ramblings and/or rantings on anything that should go through my little head.

I5 Closed

********** UPDATE ********** 12/06/2007 - 09:40 AM - According to Washington State DOT Officials, I-5 will NOT reopen until at least this weekend. A twenty mile stretch of I-5, between Mileposts 68 and 88, will remain closed until crews can remove mud and assess damaged portions of the freeway. Parts of I-5 were covered in up to 10 feet of water as the Chehalis River rose to a record flood level of over 54 feet. WADOT also states that the ONLY alternative route between Portland and Seattle for commercial trucks is I84 - I82 - I90. Routes 12 and 97 are NOT advised and to expect lengthy delays traversing these routes. The total out-of-route mileage for the detour is approximately 273 miles according to WADOT. Updates on the I-5 closure will be posted as events and conditions change. Today, Seattle and Portland are bracing for more rain as a new Pacific Storm enters the Northwest. JB

All of this because Elfie and I were going to be smart, and bypass the passes that were closed that morning....we drive down to Portland...and they close I5 on us. *deep sigh* Seattle is now an island.

On a side note-- trucking blog? This is going on my favorites, NOW.

Things you should maybe know....

I have pictures! (Yes, they're slow to update.)

Cast of Characters:
The Elf: Foxfier's husband/betrothed.
Mouser: Younger sister. The normal one. Do not make her angry.
Ugly: Youngest. Brother. Looks like a WWII recruiting poster.
MomandDad: the unity of will and purpose that brought about the author and sibs.

Foxfier is a former Navy gal who got out because she wanted to have a family, and wouldn't do the "bye baby, see you in six months" routine.
She met The Elf in the Navy, and possibly influenced Ugly to also join.
During that same time, she made this blog. She chose the name "sailorette" because of a family joke.
She is small, pig-headed and will remove your posts if she thinks you're trying to cause trouble and that's the best way to counter it. Arguments in good faith will be enjoyed, if done skillfully.

I Suggest-

Amazon has this neat thing where you can make a "store of stuff you like-- sort of a massive recomendation. Mine's here.
